Four Seasons in the Mountains
Greenlee County’s elevation ranges from around 3,500 feet along the rivers to over 9,000 feet at Hannagan Meadow, so the seasons vary sharply by where you are in the county.
Snow
The high country around Hannagan Meadow and the Coronado Trail sees real winter snow; the lower river valleys around Duncan and Clifton stay mild.
Fall Colors
Aspens and oaks turn through the high-elevation forests along the Coronado Trail in October.
Monsoon
Like the rest of Arizona, Greenlee County gets a summer monsoon season — afternoon thunderstorms, flash-flood potential near washes and river crossings.
