Overview
Strayhorse Campground is a cool, shaded Forest Service campground set among large ponderosa pine and Gambel oak in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. The Forest Service describes it as being about six miles below the Mogollon Rim and suitable for camping and picnicking. The nearby Strayhorse Trailhead provides access toward the Blue River and the Blue Range backcountry. Because of its elevation and remote setting, access can vary with winter weather and forest conditions.

From Clifton, follow US 191/Coronado Trail north into the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. The campground is along the high-country section of the route below the Mogollon Rim; verify current access with the Forest Service before travel.
