Hannagan Meadow Recreation Area

Hannagan Meadow sits around 9,100 feet in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests and is one of the signature high-country stops on the Coronado Trail. Tall conifers, open meadows and aspen provide scenery and wildlife habitat, with nearby camping, hiking, mountain biking and access toward the Blue Range Primitive Area. In winter, conditions can support cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The area was affected by the 2011 Wallow Fire, so visitors entering backcountry trails should remain alert for falling trees, burned-out stump holes, flooding and rapidly changing mountain weather.
