Gila River Boat Put-In

BLM day-use river access point on the Gila River for kayaking, rafting, canoeing, pack rafting, tubing and swimming. Vault toilet, picnic table, grill, trash receptacle and information kiosk; commercial guides run multi-day float trips from here with dispersed riverbank camping downstream. Dry Canyon Boat Take-Out is 23 miles downstream.

Access Notes

From Safford, take US-191 north past the Three Way roundabout 5.5 miles, turn left onto the Black Hills Back Country Byway, continue 4 miles, then turn right just after crossing the Old Safford Bridge.
